Job summary

CGL Electronic Security is seeking a full-time Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair electronic security and video surveillance systems for customers across Boston and nearby areas.

You’ll join a tight-knit team where senior techs share knowledge and new ideas are welcome. A take-home service vehicle is provided, with occasional on-call after-hours rotations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years servicing, installing, or programming access control systems.
• Solid troubleshooting and repair skills on security and video systems.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites regularly; occasional overnight travel.
• Strong communication and independent work capabilities.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service to every customer, every time.
• Respond to service calls, maintenance, and after-hours calls on a rotating schedule.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair security, access control, and video systems.
• Program and configure system software.

Position Summary:

CGL is looking to hire a full-time Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, and repair electronic security and video surveillance systems for our customers. You'll join a tight-knit team where senior techs share what they know and new ideas are always welcome.

You’ll be provided a take-home service vehicle, work independently in the field, and rotate on-call for after-hours emergencies.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide excellent service to every customer, every time
• Respond to service calls, scheduled maintenance, and emergency/after-hours calls (on-call rotates approximately every 8 weeks)
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problems with security, access control, and video systems — repair or replace parts as needed
• Program and configure system software
• Fill out clear, accurate service reports after every job
• Use hand and power tools (drill, wire stripper, crimper, etc.) and work at heights on a ladder or lift when needed
• Represent CGL as the customer's go-to service provider — showing up on time and following through

What You Need:

• 3+ years servicing, installing, or programming access control systems
• Valid driver's license with a clean record
• Previous experience with Software House (required)
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Rare overnight travel may be required.
• Comfortable working at heights and handling hand/power tools as needed
• Able to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision
• Solid communication skills - you'll be dealing directly with customers
• Advanced technical skills related to electronic security and video surveillance systems.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
