Job summary

About the Company

Particle Measuring Systems is a global leader in micro‑contamination monitoring equipment that improves the performance of clean rooms in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. Based in Niwot, Colorado, we develop light‑scattering particle counters and related technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Calibrate electronic equipment used in micro‑contamination monitoring.
  • Develop troubleshooting and repair skills for service calls.
  • Support customer calibration and maintenance of particle‑counter systems.
  • Research customer problems and complaints and document solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal departments.
  • Continuously evaluate processes for improvements in efficiency, quality, and safety.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or military equivalent.
  • Ability to read schematics in English.
  • Knowledge of A/C and D/C converters, microprocessors, analog and digital circuits.
  • Knowledge of helium‑neon lasers, diode lasers, and/or collecting and condensing optics (helpful but not required).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Some travel required.
  • Team player focused on customer satisfaction and quality, with a sense of urgency.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This role primarily operates in a lab environment. The technician must sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods and may need to occasionally lift up to 50lbs. Reasonable accommodation will be provided for qualified persons with disabilities.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $26.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA, onsite clinic (for CO employees), life insurance, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, employee recognition programs, employee assistance programs, vacation and holiday pay, and paid time off.
