Job summary

Mesa Energy Systems, Inc. in California is seeking an experienced HVAC technician to install, maintain and service commercial equipment across rooftops, coils, and ventilation systems.

You will perform startups, testing and commissioning of RTUs, air handlers, VAVs and related equipment, requiring 5+ years of field experience and a universal CFC certification. This on-site role involves working at heights, lifting up to 50 lbs, using PPE, and coordinating with crew members; competitive hourly

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment.
• Current Universal CFC certification.
• Ability to work on ladders, roofs, and attics; operate hand tools and testing devices.

Responsibilities

• Install new HVAC units, brazing, line sets, trimming refrigerant and charging.
• Install piping systems including drain piping, p-traps, water lines, gas lines, valves and actuators.
• Install coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors, combustion equipment, and air compressors.
• Perform start up, testing and commissioning on RTUs, Air Handlers, VAVs, Fan Coil units and swamp coolers.
• Test lines, components, and connections for leaks and repair defective joints.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment (vacuuming, cleaning, filters, oiling).

About Us

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Install new HVAC units, brazing, line sets, trimming refrigerant and adding charge.
• Install piping systems to include but not limited to drain piping, p-traps, water lines, gas lines valves and actuators
• Install coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors.
• Perform start up, testing and commissioning on RTU’s, Air Handlers, VAV’s, Fan Coil units, swamp coolers and other Commercial HVAC Equipment
• Test lines, components, and connections for leaks, brazing and soldering parts as necessary to repair defective joints.
• Perform preventative maintenance on the equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, along with a current Universal CFC certification
• Experience with ladders, roofs, and attics.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, low and high voltage wiring.
• Strong oral and written communication required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
• Valid Driver’s license and able to maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e., but not limited to, Dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $40 - $60 Per Hour The hourly rate is determined by the CBA/rate sheet and test results.
