Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is hiring for a tire technician role in the United States. You will mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across a range of vehicles, diagnose mechanical issues on semi-trucks, and perform routine fleet maintenance.

The position requires a valid driver's license, the ability to lift heavy tires, and flexibility for evenings, weekends, and overtime. You’ll work with TPMS, respond to roadside calls, and participate in safety training while advancing in a growing tire network.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Overtime may be required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
• Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including commercial tires, HVAC systems, brakes, steering & suspension, PM inspections, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
• Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.
• Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck when needed.
• Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
• Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.
• Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including:

  • Commercial Tires

  • HVAC systems

  • Brakes

  • Steering & Suspension

  • PM Inspections

  • Drivetrain

  • Electrical Systems

• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.

• Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.

• Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.

• Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).

• Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.

• Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
