This role offers the opportunity to work as a traveling service technician or shop mechanic, performing service, repair, assembly, and maintenance on a wide range of foundational rigs and heavy equipment rented to contractors. You ensure equipment is inspected, repaired, and ready for rental, and you support contractors in the field by setting up machinery and training them on proper use. The position focuses on keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently so projects are completed on time and within budget.
You join a team that values safety, quality, and continuous learning, with structured training available to help you grow your skills on specialized foundational equipment. You can progress into field service roles and may be eligible for the use of a company truck based on skills and experience. Uniforms are provided, helping you focus on your work while being part of a professional, service-oriented culture.
You work in a hands-on, industrial environment that includes both shop and field settings. Shop mechanics typically work in the shop for about 40 hours per week and must be willing to travel when needed. Traveling mechanics perform local and extended travel, sometimes remaining on assignment for up to a month at a time to support contractors on job sites. Shop helpers work at an apprentice level, assisting with repairs, assembly, and general shop tasks while learning the trade. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility to start as early as 6:00 a.m. and stay as late as 5:00 p.m. during busy periods. You work with heavy equipment and advanced hydraulic and diesel systems in a safety-focused setting, using your own core tools (up to ¾" drive and wrenches up to 2"), while the company provides specialty tools and uniforms.
