Job summary

PBBS Equipment Corp. is seeking a Service Technician to provide on-site service for boiler rooms. The role requires mechanical or electrical aptitude, ability to read prints, and strong customer communication. Training will be provided by PBBS, with occasional out-of-town work, overtime, and on-call shifts.

The candidate will perform annual boiler and ancillary equipment maintenance, piping, wiring, refractory tasks, and pump service/installation, reporting to the Area Manager.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical background required.
• Ability to read mechanical, wiring, and electrical prints/schematics.
• Proficient with smart phone/tablet for job applications.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide service to customers as directed by Area Manager.
• Annual maintenance on Boilers, Feed/DA Tanks, and ancillary equipment.
• Piping and wiring tasks.
• Refractory work as needed.
• Service and install pumps.
• Control and burner upgrades.
• General repair and maintenance.

This position is responsible for providing service to customers, as it relates to their Boiler Rooms.

This candidate will have strong work ethic and an ability to work both individually and in collaboration with others. The Service Technician will report to the Area Manager. PBBS can and will provide on the job training.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Provide service to customers as directed by Area Manager
• Annual Maintenance on Boilers, Feed/DA Tanks, and Ancillary Equipment
• Piping
• Wiring
• Refractory
• Service/Install Pumps
• Control & Burner Upgrades
• General Repair & Maintenance

Available to work occasionally out of town, overtime, and on-call shifts.

Requirements

• Mechanical and/or Electrical background
• Ability to read, understand and work from mechanical, wiring, and electrical prints/schematics
• Proficiencies using smart phone/tablet
• Able to work independently, as well as in a team atmosphere
• Strong communication and customer service skills (written and oral)
