We are accepting applications for a Service Technician at our Pawcatuck location. Our primary repair types include work on our own used vehicles and maintenance/light repairs for our customer base. We work on various vehicle makes. No nights or weekends! Applicants must have their own tools, a clean driving record, and be willing to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and related problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment in the facility
• Perform facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install repaired or new equipment
• Keep accurate records of inspections, tests, and repairs
• Coordinate work-related contracts and service recommendations
• Supervise outside contractors for mechanical and electrical repairs when needed
• Support and comply with health, safety, quality, and lean initiatives

Qualifications

• Mechanical and technical aptitude
• 1-3 years of experience in an industrial or maintenance environment
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
• Experience with measurement instruments like tape measures, gauges, and scales
• Physically capable of standing, bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, and lifting up to 40 lbs
• Proficient in reading, writing English, and basic math
• Basic computer skills for data entry
• Valid certification to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers
• Excellent customer service skills
• Positive attitude and customer service mentality
• Effective collaboration skills
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver's license with a clean record
