Job summary

CIT Trucks, LLC is seeking a Diesel Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and related systems across our Midwest service network. You will perform preventive maintenance, document work, and ensure safety standards while delivering high-quality service.

You will participate in ongoing training, work with a collaborative service team, and contribute to timely repairs that support our growing fleet operations in Illinois and surrounding states.

Qualifications

• Preventive maintenance experience required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CDL and DOT medical card ability strongly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines and related systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance per manufacturer specs and company standards.
• Document work performed, parts used, and labor hours.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Complete online training and attend classes to advance professionally.

Responsibilities of a Diesel Technician entail:

• Perform thorough diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other medium-duty and heavy-duty vehicle components.
• Conduct preventative maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and company standards, ensuring optimal vehicle performance and longevity.
• Complete accurate and detailed documentation of work performed, including service records, parts used, and labor hours.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols in the work environment, maintaining a clean workspace and properly utilizing tools and equipment.
• Complete online training courses and attend instructor-led classes to advance your career.
• Collaborate with the service team to provide exceptional customer service and prioritize the timely completion of repairs.

Requirements

Requirements to become a Diesel Technician at CIT Trucks, LLC include:

• Preventive maintenance experience required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School diploma or GED required
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and DOT medical card
• Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 120 pounds
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
