Job summary

CIT Trucks, LLC is seeking a Mobile Diesel Service Technician in Indiana to perform heavy-duty truck repair and maintenance at offsite locations. You will build customer relationships and identify opportunities to increase service sales within a designated territory.

The role requires 3+ years of Class 8 technician experience, a valid driver's license (CDL a plus), and certifications for A/C, brakes, and DOT inspections. You will lift up to 50 pounds and must be able to access trucks as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Class 8 technician.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and access trucks.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Perform routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty truck equipment.
• Advise customers on needed service work and related labor, parts, and body shop sales.
• Read job orders, observe vehicle operation, and plan work procedures.
• Maintain equipment per company standards and liaise with parts department.
• Comply with federal, state, and local regulations including safety rules.
• Document work performed in the mobile service program accurately.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.

Overview:

The role of the Mobile Diesel Service Technician is to perform heavy-duty mechanical truck repair and maintenance at offsite locations. The successful candidate will develop relationships with customers to achieve labor sales quota in a designated territory and analyze customer operations for opportunities to increase service sales in the given territory.

Responsibilities of a Mobile Service Technician entail:

• Report to the Service Manager and will be assigned duties on a daily basis.
• Performs routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with general supervision.
• Advises customer of needed service work, as well as suggests additional labor, parts, and body shop sales whenever possible (i.e., Preventive Maintenance Inspections, related service work, etc.).
• Read job order and observes and listens to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards
• Communicates with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, occupational health & safety regulations, etc.
• Document and submit necessary paperwork or enter into mobile service program as work performed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Participate in training and utilize that training in the course of work.

Requirements

Requirements to become a Mobile Service Technician at CIT Trucks, LLC include:
