Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Washington, PA is seeking a Rental Service Technician to service, troubleshoot, repair and refurbish compressed air equipment, including air compressors and dryers, to ensure reliable operation. This role requires at least 1 year of mechanical/pneumatic service experience, the ability to read technical drawings, and forklift operation, with the physical demands of regular lifting up to 50 lbs.

Training on rental compressor technology will be provided.

Job Overview

The Rental Technician for Ingersoll Rand’s Compression Systems is responsible for the service, troubleshooting, repair, testing, and refurbishment of compressed air equipment such as air compressors and dryers. This includes inspection and analysis of malfunctions, dismantling, repairing, adjusting, and reassembling (as required) to solve operational problems. While you’ll bring a strong foundation of industrial mechanical skills, extensive training and cross-training on rental compressor and dryer technology will be provided.   • Repair and refurbish rental dryer and compressor equipment.
Requirements
  • 1 year+ of mechanical/pneumatic service & repair experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical design drawings.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. Regularly lift up to 50 lbs or move weights in line with safety policy.
Core Competencies
  • Ability to read wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.
  • Basic PC skills, some experience using Excel or equivalent.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective at managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable and well organized.
Preferences
  • Knowledge of installation, operation, maintenance and repair of dryers, compressors, and compressed air equipment.
  • Electric compressor and/or chiller experience a plus.
  • Refrigeration certifications and/or experience a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety is priority.
  • Highly self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Veterans/Active-Duty Military are encouraged to apply.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
