Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer is seeking a Service Technician for Lexington Commons in Newport News, VA. This full-time role involves hands-on maintenance of apartments, turnovers, and repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances to ensure a high-quality living environment for residents.

You’ll maintain common areas and pool areas while delivering exceptional resident service. A valid driver’s license is required and on-call availability may be needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in a residential setting.
• CFC and HVAC certifications are required.
• Strong background in plumbing and electrical systems and general apartment maintenance.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between properties.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude and hands-on work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Complete apartment work orders and turnovers promptly.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Maintain common areas, buildings, and pool areas.
• Provide exceptional customer service to residents and staff.
• Work with the team to perform maintenance tasks efficiently and professionally.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.

Thalhimer is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at Lexington Commons in Newport News, VA. This full-time role offers a regular work week with on-call hours as needed. As a Service Technician, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the quality of our apartment homes, ensuring residents enjoy a well-maintained living environment. What You'll Do:

As a Service Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient maintenance of the Lexington Commons property. Your hands-on expertise will cover everything from completing apartment work orders and turnovers to performing repairs on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances. You'll also be responsible for maintaining common areas, property buildings, and pool areas, contributing to the overall upkeep of the community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing apartment work orders and turnovers promptly
• Performing repairs and preventative maintenance for HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, and appliances
• Assisting with the upkeep of common areas, property buildings, and pool maintenance
• Demonstrating exceptional customer service in all interactions with residents and staff
• Working with the team to ensure all maintenance tasks are handled efficiently and professionally
• Responding to emergency maintenance requests as needed
• Managing daily checklists, occasional tasks, and troubleshooting unexpected issues

What We're Looking For:

• At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a residential community or similar field
• CFC and HVAC certifications are required
• Strong background in plumbing, electrical systems, and general apartment maintenance
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel between properties if needed
• Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for hands-on work
