Job summary

Total Foodservice Group (TFG) in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair restaurant kitchen equipment at customer sites. You’ll ensure equipment operates at peak efficiency and communicate clearly with customers while maintaining high service standards.

Field Technicians may travel to client locations, provide on-call support when needed, complete administrative duties, and continually learn through training.

Qualifications

• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required; must be over 21 to operate company vehicles.
• Preferred: High School or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Installs/repairs, upkeep, and troubleshooting of restaurant kitchen equipment at customer sites.
• Completes administrative duties pertaining to customer calls, expense reports, and time sheets.
• Identifies malfunctions by testing, repairing, or replacing equipment/parts.
• Documents repairs and actions by updating equipment records.
• Builds strong relationships with customers on each visit.
• Complies with safety regulations and company standards.

Salary Range: $18.00 To $35.00 Hourly

TFG is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team in the Lafayette, LA area.

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing foodservice equipment at customer sites. You’ll ensure equipment operates at optimal efficiency, address customer concerns through clear communication, and maintain high service standards. Technicians will manage their assigned territories, perform timely repairs, and proactively address potential equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

Service Technicians are responsible for installs/repairs, upkeep, and troubleshooting of restaurant kitchen equipment sold and serviced by TFG.

• Completes system installations by fabricating, mounting, and connecting various components such as: compressors, motors, control panels, gauges, and other related components to ensure power connections are secure and equipment is operationally sound
• Responsible for assigned customers and territories, as well as administrative duties pertaining to customer calls, expense reports, time sheets, and tracking of necessary preventative maintenance and requests made by customers
• Identifies malfunctions by testing, repairing, or replacing equipment/parts
• Presents and maintains a professional image
• Properly documents repairs and actions by completing equipment records
• Builds and fosters strong relationships with customers each visit
• Continues to learn on the job through participation in educational opportunities and training
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations

Skills, Abilities, Qualifications

Education & Experience

Required:

• EPA 608 Universal Certification
• Drivers License
• Must be over 21 years of age to operate company vehicles

Preferred:

• High School or Equivalent
• Registered Refrigeration Technician through the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration
• Electrical and Refrigeration Technician Experience
• General Interest in the Foodservice Industry
• Field Service Technicians will work in Lafayette, LA and surrounding areas to complete repairs at customer locations
• Field Technicians may be required to provide on‑call service, after‑hours support, or work outside of traditional office hours
• Field Service Technicians must be comfortable traveling for assignments, as required, and must provide a valid driver's license upon hiring
