Job Title: Service Technician (Full-time)
Summary: Service Technicians utilize skills and knowledge in mechanical, fluid power, electrical, and electronic systems to support the installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment at customer facilities across the United States and internationally. As familiarity with company equipment and processes increases, this position may evolve into a Field Service Engineer role.
Essential Functions:
- Build quotes for service work by estimating labor costs, obtaining pricing from vendors, reviewing historical data on equipment, and assessing schedule availability.
- Assist in resolving or directing customer service issues to the appropriate department.
- Provide remote troubleshooting support to customers.
- Offer retrofit and design improvements on existing equipment, if applicable.
- Assist in installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
- Help determine preventative maintenance needs and identify the appropriate type and timing of maintenance.
- Consult with customer representatives on effective machine operation methods for specific tasks.
- Support training of customer personnel in operating, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing machinery or equipment.
- Participate in identifying training needs and developing machine-specific training programs.
- Travel as required (up to 10%), with potential increases as experience develops.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Requirements:
- Associates of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience demonstrating technical ability.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Experience installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services, including marketing strategies, product demonstrations, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
- Background in industrial control hardware and software, tool and die operations, welding, fluid power, mechanical systems, and/or hydraulics.
- Proficiency with Windows-based personal computers and software.
- Ability to represent the company professionally and positively.
- Ability to develop work plans, prioritize tasks, and organize responsibilities effectively.
- Capability to handle multiple, conflicting priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective instructional ability for customer operators and repair technicians.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
