Job summary

Rueter’s is seeking a Service Technician to maintain and repair agricultural and construction equipment in both the shop and the field. You’ll diagnose complex issues, document parts and services, and strive for efficiency while upholding safety standards.

Join a long‑standing, growing company with seven locations in the region; local day travel is expected and lifting 25+ lbs is routine in the role.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel, hydraulic and electrical systems required.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and repair techniques.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Prior diesel mechanic/technician experience preferred.
• Automotive/transport techs encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

As a Service Technician, you’ll perform maintenance and repairs on ag and construction equipment in both the shop and the field.

Responsibilities include:

• Diagnosing and performing basic to complex repairs
• Documenting parts and services performed accurately
• Meeting service efficiency and productivity goals
• Participating in ongoing training and development
• Following all safety protocols
• Promoting fair, customer-friendly billing practices
  

What We’re Looking For

• Strong knowledge of diesel, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Experience with diagnostic tools and repair techniques
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a customer-first mindset
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Technician, or similar role
• Automotive and transportation techs encouraged to apply!

The Details

• Location: Carroll, IA
• Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (occasional evenings/weekends)
• Travel: Local day travel expected
• Work Environment: Split between shop and field settings, occasional exposure to outdoor elements and uneven surfaces. Ability to lift 25+ lbs regularly required.
