Job summary

Gerry Lane Enterprises in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking an automotive service technician to join our busy dealership team. You will perform repairs and diagnostics, drive vehicles for testing, and ensure work meets manufacturer and dealership standards.

Candidates with ASE certifications are preferred, but a strong automotive background and teamwork skills are essential. A clean driving record and passing a drug/background check are required, with paid training and opportunities for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in dealership standards
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to evaluate systems
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional services and time estimates
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• ASE certifications are ideal

• Must have clean & valid driver's license
