Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Service Tech I to perform maintenance and minor repairs on our rental equipment. You’ll support safe operations, assist with delivery, and help keep inventory organized. This role offers growth into higher service technician levels within a strong, service‑murable organization.

Ideal candidates bring diesel/automotive mechanical knowledge, a valid license, and strong customer service skills. Benefits and training accompany this essential field role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic knowledge of Diesel Engines, Vacuum Trucks, AC Systems, RV Systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of tools.
• Basic plumbing knowledge.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Perform minor repairs including oil, grease, fluids, electrical, AC systems, plumbing and tagging for rental readiness.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Manage and organize inventory.
• Other duties as needed.
