Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Service Tech I (Diesel Mechanic) to perform maintenance and minor repairs on rental equipment.

You will inspect equipment, report conditions, demonstrate gear to customers, and assist with parts and pickups in a safety‑conscious environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, basic knowledge of construction equipment, and strong mechanical aptitude with excellent customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including checking oil, grease, fluids and tagging of equipment for rental ready status.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
