Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II) to perform preventive maintenance, repairs and inspections on rental equipment. You will document work orders, demonstrate machines to customers and assist with equipment delivery and pickups.

The position emphasizes safety, customer service and teamwork, with potential growth into higher level Tech roles within the Service Department. A valid license and own tools are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 1–2 years of experience repairing/maintaining vehicles and equipment, or trade school graduate.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of rental equipment and tools involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
