Job summary

ACTION COMMERCIAL SERVICE INC in New York is seeking a road service technician to service gas, steam, electric and electronic commercial food service equipment at customer locations. You will work on ranges, dishwashers, steamers, fryers, coffee makers, and other appliances in kitchens across schools, restaurants, and care facilities.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, reading schematics, replacing worn parts, documenting work, and communicating clearly with customers.

Qualifications

Must work well with various hand tools.
Basic understanding of electrical concepts, basic troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
Excellent communication skills conveying confidence and understanding to our customers of the service we provide.

Responsibilities

Talk to customers or refer to work orders to establish the nature of appliance malfunctions.
Observe equipment in operation and troubleshoot with test equipment (VOM, amp probe, pyrometer, manometer, etc.).
Refer to schematic drawings, product manuals, and troubleshooting guides in order to diagnose and repair problems.
Replace worn and defective parts such as switches, circuit boards, thermostats, gas valves, burners or defective wiring.
Reassemble units after repairs are made, making adjustments and cleaning and lubricating parts as needed.
Record maintenance and repair work.
Maintain stocks of parts used in on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of appliances.
Observe and test operation after installation and make any necessary adjustments.
Instruct customers regarding operation and care of appliances, and provide information such as emergency service numbers.
Handle invoicing of COD customers.
On call approximately every 5th or 6th weekend.

Job Summary

Road service technician servicing gas, steam, electric and electronic commercial food service equipment at customer locations.
Servicing any equipment used in the preparation of food in commercial establishments such as ranges, dishwashers, steamers, microwave ovens, fryers, conveyor ovens, coffee makers, and toasters.
Service is performed in any commercial kitchen such as those found in schools, restaurants, colleges, and nursing homes.

General Accountabilities
