Job summary

Vermeer Heartland is seeking a Service Support Specialist at our Washington Court House, OH location. You will support the service department in wash bay tasks, prep and detail equipment, and assist with light repairs and shipments.

A strong focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous learning is required. Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma or GED, be 18+, and bring 1 year of wash/detail experience or equivalent dealership exposure.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery, including forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Use provided tools and equipment such as hand tools, pressure washers, hoses, and brushes.
• Maintain professional lot appearance and safety standards.
• Assist in light-duty repairs, equipment assembly, and unloading shipments as needed.
• Represent Vermeer Heartland professionally with customers and vendors.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the service department in the wash bay, independently working to clean/degrease equipment where necessary based on workorder instructions.
• Prep and detail Vermeer Heartland and customer equipment, including touch-up painting.
• Proficiently use Vermeer Heartland-provided and personal tools and equipment such as hand tools, pressure washers, hoses and brushes.
• Maintain professional lot appearance by organizing equipment, cleaning up trash and debris and snow removal as needed.
• Assist in the Service Department with light-duty repairs, equipment assembly and unloading factory shipments as needed.
• Maintain Vermeer Heartland’s reputation as a trusted partner by conveying a professional and knowledgeable presence to vendors, customers and internal team members.
• Commit to continuous learning through online and instructor-led training programs.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations, adhering to all policies and procedures.

POSITION SKILLS/ ABILITIES

• Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment on a consistent basis.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components, along with familiarization and use of associated technical terms.

• At minimum, actively pursuing a High School diploma or GED.
• Employees in our service department must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1 year of experience in a wash/detail position and/or equivalent in a dealership environment preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery, including forklifts.
Valid driver’s license and able to meet Heartland insurance providers qualifications.
• Ability to sit, stand, lift and lower repeatedly and for extended periods in both internal and external environments.
• Available on short notice to work overtime as customer demand or VHL operations dictate.
