Job summary

Ask IT Consulting Inc. seeks an on-site PC Refresh Technician in Jamestown, NC to install, configure, image, and troubleshoot PC hardware, software, and peripherals. You will work with GTCC staff, manage inventory, and support end users via phone and email.

The role includes imaging PCs, updating tickets, and coordinating hardware deliveries while following standard procedures and security practices.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting PC hardware/software.
• Experience supporting laptops/docking stations.
• Experience with ticketing systems (Remedy).
• Experience installing printers and drivers.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at desks/under furniture.
• Experience creating written process documentation.
• Experience with enterprise PC deployment projects in multiple locations.
• Prior PC Refresh/Deployment project experience.

Responsibilities

• Install/config PC hardware, software, and peripherals per procedures.
• Connect/disconnect PCs and printers to the network.
• Assign host names in Active Directory for new PCs.
• Install Windows and necessary applications and drivers.
• Upgrade/repair PC equipment (memory, drives).
• Develop and test PC images.
• Maintain equipment inventory and logs.
• Coordinate deliveries/pickups with GTCC staff.
• Provide end-user PC support via phone and email.
• Triage workstation trouble calls and SCCM issues.
• Update ManageEngine tickets and records.
• Document technical processes as needed.

Job Description

The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting GTCC staff by supporting hardware and software installation and troubleshooting services associated with the PC refresh project. Candidate must possess the ability to install and configure PC hardware, peripherals, and software in a network environment. The resource may also be required to document technical processes. Candidates are required to work onsite at 601 East Main Street, Jamestown, NC 27282.

• Installs computer system hardware, software, and related peripherals in accordance with departmental procedures and technical manuals.
  • Installs and configures PC hardware and peripherals (printers, mice, keyboards to meet user requirements.
  • Connects/disconnects PCs and printers to the network.
  • Assigns workstation and Host names for PCs being added to the Active Directory.
  • Installs related software (Windows, applications, printer drivers) needed for proper functioning of the complete system and all interconnected devices.
  • Upgrades or repairs existing PC equipment by replacing or adding memory or hard drives, as required.
  • Develops and tests images for PCs.
• Provide all required information to assure a complete and accurate equipment inventory.
  • Receives, checks in, and inventories equipment. Reports all inventory transfers.
  • Records inventory information.
  • Coordinate equipment deliveries and pickups with GTCC staff.
• Provides direct support for workstation requests and issues.
  • Responds to workstation related trouble calls.
  • Provide PC related support to end users via telephone and e-mail.
  • Troubleshoots individual PC problems resulting from SCCM pushes.
  • Updates Manage Engine tickets.
• If needed, document technical processes and/or update existing documentation.

Qualifications

Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting PC hardware/software.
Experience supporting laptops/docking stations.
Experience with ticketing systems (i.e. Remedy).
experience installing print devices and drivers.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, squat, run wires under/through furniture, install PC’s on desks, remove old PC’s.
Experience creating written process documentation.
Experience supporting enterprise level PC deployment projects in multiple locations.
Prior PC Refresh/Deployment Project experience.
