Mossy Nissan National City seeks a Service Smog Technician with solid automotive knowledge to inspect, service and prepare vehicles per factory and dealership standards.

Qualifications

• Must have ASE certifications (ideal) and strong automotive background.
• Excellent teamwork and ability to read and follow instructions.
• Clean driving record and valid CA driver's license; OEM certs encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of models and communicate with service and sales staff.
• Perform repairs per repair order efficiently and per dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles, diagnose systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Repair engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, A/C systems.
• Inform Service Advisor of additional repairs and provide time estimates.
• Complete repairs under warranty to manufacturer specs.

The Service SMOG technician inspects, service, and prepares new and used vehicles for sale according to factory and dealership standards, policies, and specifications.

The Service Technician Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly and Flag Rate Compensation of between $34.00 and $38.00, plus a productivity bonus equivalent up to a maximum hourly rate of $56.00 per hour based on individual performance.

Customer satisfaction is a result of your personal work habits and ethics and is of utmost importance as part of your job function. As a Service Smog Technician, the responsibility of customer satisfaction falls into the categories of completing the job correctly, cleanly, honestly, and on time.

The Service Smog Technician is also responsible for setting goals for personal service improvement and monitor progress against customer satisfaction index numbers and production numbers as provided by the Service Manager.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining up to date technical knowledge of current models and used vehicles sufficient to effectively communicate with service & sales staff
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Complying with all applicable company and legal requirements controlling vehicle repairs

Qualifications
