Job summary

DU Family of Companies in Capitol Heights, MD, is seeking a Service Sales Representative to support the service sales process, coordinate inspections, and assist with billing and customer follow-up. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to manage multiple service priorities.

The position offers opportunities to work with a network of fire protection and life safety service professionals, with salary based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong oral, written, telephone, and customer-service skills.
  • Strong time-management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to support internal and external customers.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business procedures and regulations.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain job information, including purchase order numbers, tax-exempt forms, insurance certificates, deficiency details, and certified payroll information.
  • Assist with scheduling monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections in accordance with customer contracts and applicable state and local codes.
  • Coordinate inspection schedules with customers and company inspectors.
  • Assist with scheduling service work based on approved customer quotes.
  • Collect inspection reports from inspectors in a timely manner.
  • Verify that the correct reports have been received for each job before billing.
  • Review inspection reports for deficiencies and prepare quotes as necessary.
  • Scan and upload invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and other customer documentation into the online document-storage system.
  • Follow up with customers regarding quoted deficiencies.
  • Create and book jobs for inspections and service calls within the company’s system.
  • Invoice completed work in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with customer invoicing and collection follow-up for the inspection department.
  • Maintain positive and professional customer and vendor relationships.
  • Provide responsive support to internal and external customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Service Sales Representative to our Capitol Heights, MD team. This role supports the service sales process by preparing deficiency quotes and estimates, coordinating inspections and service work, maintaining documentation, and assisting with billing and customer follow-up. Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Work primarily in an office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Remain seated for extended periods while completing computer and telephone work.
  • Move throughout the office to copy, scan, fax, and file documents.
  • Occasionally lift and carry light office supplies, files, or related materials.
  • Use computers and telephones consistently throughout the workday.

The salary for this role is $40,000 to $80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
