General Information

We are currently seeking a seasoned Service Sales professional to serve Hitachi Energy as a Service Sales Account Manager (SSAM). This person will be expected to present our service solutions to new and existing clients.

This position will primarily focus on the Midwest Region – exact base location is targeted for the Kansas City, MO, St. Louis, MO, Minneapolis, MN, Denver, CO, Milwaukee, WI, Des Moines, IA or Chicago, IL area.

Our successful candidate will be a highly motivated, collaborative and fast-paced sales hunter with a history of meeting or exceeding sales targets and a strong drive to succeed. As SSAM, you will have primary responsibility to drive service sales of electrical power equipment substation services and service projects, generating service sales opportunities and securing profitable sales with the designated region. The role focuses on installed equipment and selling the entire Service product portfolio of Hitachi Energy in collaboration with technical experts. Developing account plans, building long-term relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction are key success factors.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Service Sales Delivery: Develop and implement service sales strategies, penetrate installed base, promote upgrades and solutions, and update customer data regularly.
  2. Volume and Profit: Use ServIS IB database to identify sales opportunities and focus on the entire Service portfolio.
  3. New Opportunities: Conduct sales calls, promote offerings, and explore new market opportunities.
  4. Customer Approach: Build long-term relationships, understand customer needs, and ensure satisfaction.
  5. Sales Process: Manage proposals, tenders, and communication of contract details.
  6. Marketing: Represent Hitachi Energy during marketing events and translate customer needs into service solutions.
  7. Health, Safety and Integrity: Contribute to risk assessments, ensure safety standards, and register relevant data.
  8. Additional Responsibilities: Provide training, support market insights, and develop effective sales tactics.

  • Convince customers to outsource services.
  • Identify decision makers and work with diverse teams.

Your Background

A combination of education and experience will be considered, typically 3-9 years in sales/support of power solutions, with familiarity with Hitachi Energy products. Willingness to travel 60% is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline is highly preferred.
  • Experience with electric substation equipment and technical sales is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of operations & maintenance practices and substation construction.
  • Experience negotiating long-term service contracts.
  • Work authorization to work in the United States.
