Catholic Health in Buffalo, NY seeks a Service Representative to organize the front end of its hospital centers. You will answer phones, assist patients, and refer complex queries to staff, while navigating OR manager and Lawson to support billing and eligibility checks.

You will monitor patient accounts, collect co-pays, arrange payments, verify insurance, and deliver high-quality customer service as the frontline for Infusion services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associates degree or completion of medical secretarial course strongly preferred.

Responsabilités

Summary:

The Service Representative is responsible for the organization and efficiency of the front end functions of the centers operated by Catholic Health. The Representative will answer telephones and assists patients directly or refers to appropriate staff. He/she will also navigate several IT programs including OR manager and Lawson. In addition, this position is responsible for financial monitoring of all patient accounts including co-payments, payment arrangements, verification of insurance eligibility, handling questions/concerns regarding patient financial responsibility and high level of customer service. As the front line for Infusion services, this position meets and refers all pharmaceutical manufacturers and specialty pharmacy representatives to the Director of Pharmacy, New Business Development for follow up appointments.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

• High school diploma required
• Associates degree or completion of medical secretarial course strongly preferred

Experience

• 1 year experience in hospital/medical office setting

Knowledge, Skills And Ability

• Must possess general office skills, including but not limited to computer/keyboarding, fax machines, typing and/or demonstrated computer proficiency
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Must possess excellent/effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through a must
• Has the ability to maintain composure when interacting with a wide variety of patients and circumstances
• Highly motivated and willing to contribute skills and ideas for the overall improvement of the Center
• Must be flexible and effective in a fast paced/changing healthcare environment
