Job summary

Guzzler Manufacturing in Illinois is seeking skilled technicians to service and repair vacuum trucks and heavy equipment. You will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems and perform welding and fabrication as needed.

You’ll follow blueprints and instructions, operate cranes and forklifts, order parts, and maintain safety standards under OSHA guidelines. This role requires 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience and the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical assembly experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and hydraulic schematics.
• Willingness to work overtime and maintain a safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Service and/or repair vacuum trucks and other heavy equipment.

• Complete shop maintenance during downtime.
• Enter jobs into company system per processes.
• Communicate updates on equipment to Supervisor.
• Order parts and ensure safety policies are followed.

Job description

Pay Range: $34-$37 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Service and/or repair vacuum trucks and other types of heavy equipment
• Troubleshoot and evaluate various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
• Perform some welding and fabrication as required (mig, stick, plasma, torch cutting)
• Read and understand technical instructions (blueprints, hydraulic schematics, diagrams and work instructions
• Operate overhead crane, hoist, forklift, and miscellaneous air and electric hand tools and measuring instruments as required to perform repairs and maintenance
• Complete shop maintenance during down time
• Enter jobs into computer system in alignment with company processes
• Communicate updates on equipment to Supervisor
• Order parts
• Work in alignment with all company and OSHA safety policies

Requirements

• Ability to assemble components per drawings and/or verbal or written instructions.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose all systems related to a complete vacuum system.
• Strong ability to perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical applications, maintain a clean and safe workplace, must work in a manner deemed safe for self and others.
• Willingness to work overtime when requested.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
