Job Description

Summary

The Service Porter will be responsible for maintaining the dealership’s appearance, assisting with vehicle movement, and delivering exceptional customer service. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Greets all customers entering the service area with a friendly and professional attitude, answers their questions, and directs them to the appropriate person or location.
2. Determines if customers coming into service have an appointment. Records customer’s name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage (walk around).
3. Moves and parks vehicles on the dealership premises to maintain flow of traffic.
4. Drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.
5. Keeps the dealership lot, driveways, and sidewalks clean, organized, and presentable.
6. Provides excellent customer service when interacting with customers and directing them to the appropriate personnel.
7. Retrieves customer vehicles at cashier for pick-up; waits at vehicle for customer, thanks customers for their business.
8. Installs disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and I.D. tags in all vehicles taken in for service.
9. Supports service departments with various tasks as required (i.e., replenish vehicle fluids and assist with minor vehicle tasks).
10. Follows all company safety policies and procedures and immediately reports any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
11. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
12. Physically able to drive and move vehicles.
13. Strong attention to detail to maintain the dealership’s professional appearance.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
15. Must be authorized to work in the USA.
16. Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Recent completion of an automotive program or some automotive experience.

Compensation (Hourly):

$20.00 / hour

*The Porter Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges. Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of twenty dollars an hour.*

Schedule:

1. FULL TIME
2. 5 days a week / 2 days off
3. Sundays off
4. Weekend availability required
5. Service Drive Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 7am to 6pm
• Saturday: 8am to 5pm
