As a Service Porter, you’ll support a smooth, professional service operation by keeping vehicles clean, organized, and ready for customers and technicians. This entry-level, full-time role helps protect vehicle condition and dealership standards while assisting leaders as needed.
Key responsibilities include cleaning vehicle interiors/exteriors; topping off fluids; charging/replacing batteries when required; placing buyer guides and stock tags; moving vehicles between the service lane, stalls, and parking areas; keeping lots and work areas orderly (sweeping/shoveling/vacuuming debris and removing containers); inspecting vehicles/parts for cleanliness, damage, and compliance; and creating key tags.
Your day starts by checking priorities with the team, then you’re in motion—coordinating vehicle flow so the drive and service areas stay clear and calm. You’ll rotate between quick touch-ups, staging cars where they’re needed next, and keeping the lot presentation consistent. Between rushes, you’ll handle small requests from managers, update tags and guides, and do brief walkarounds to spot anything that needs attention. The pace stays steady, and the goal is simple: every vehicle looks right, is in the right place, and is ready when the next person needs it.
