Job summary

O'Gara Coach in Thousand Oaks is seeking a service porter to support the sale and upkeep of vehicles. You will assist with tagging and moving vehicles, provide rides to customers, and help keep the lot and service area clean.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid California driver’s license, reliable hands, and strong customer service and teamwork. Prior porter or dealership experience is a plus, and candidates must follow instructions and work safely in tight spaces.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate hand tools and power washers safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-up and tagging customer cars.
• Give customers rides to their home or employer.
• Maneuver vehicles in congested areas and park safely.
• Clean and maintain the service area and lot.
• Move vehicles and perform general duties as assigned.
• Move mail and perform deliveries as requested.
• Inspect vehicles for condition and missing equipment during dealer trades.
• Wash cars and prep new/used vehicles.

Service Porters are responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the sale and upkeep of new/ used vehicles. This role will be responsible for operating and maneuvering vehicles safely.

Requirements And Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Take accurate notes on vehicle condition
• Prior dealership, porter experience a plus
• Follow proper and explicit instructions
• Professional appearance and disposition
• Excellent customer service skills are expected
• Strong communication skills
• Valid California driver’s license and insurable
• Drive manual and automatic transmissions
• Team-oriented with a positive, friendly disposition
• Ability to use hand tools and power washers
• Productivity through time management

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-up and tagging customer cars
• Give customers rides to their home and employer
• Clean the area around the service department
• Maneuver vehicles in congested areas and parallel park
• General lot maintenance
• Operate vehicles in all types of conditions and driving environments with limited space and obstacles
• Moving vehicles
• Pick up mail and do other pick-ups & deliveries as requested
• Go on dealer trades. Must be able to do all paperwork involved. Responsible for inspecting both our vehicle and the unit we are receiving for perfect condition and missing equipment
• Wash cars
• New and used car prep
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Compensation: $19.50/hr.
