Job summary

Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Plumber to perform service work including troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems for residential properties. You will diagnose issues, execute repairs, and ensure all work meets high-quality standards and local codes while communicating effectively with homeowners.

The role requires strong problem-solving, physical fitness, and the ability to manage materials, tools, and safety on diverse job sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Experience with water, gas, and sewage systems installation/repair and code compliance.
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Experience with pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work with customers and supervisors professionally.
• Physically capable of demanding tasks and driving to sites.
• Safety-minded with knowledge of safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
• Decide whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers.
• Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
• Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety.
• Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
• Manage inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle and verify receipts.
• Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer's instructions and procedures.
• Maintain safety equipment and follow safety protocols.
