Job summary

Sunlight Batteries USA is seeking a Service & Parts Planner to ensure parts availability for service and replacement needs. You will link customer demand with inventory planning, procurement, and warehouse operations to optimize service levels and reliability.

The role requires strong forecasting, inventory management, and collaboration across Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Engineering to anticipate future demand and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics or related field.
• 5-8 years of inventory planning, materials planning, or supply chain experience.
• Experience managing strategic inventory and critical service parts.
• Strong forecasting and analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute inventory replenishment strategies for service and replacement parts.
• Establish stocking levels, reorder points, and safety stock.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages before impact.
• Drive demand planning and forecasting aligned with business forecasts.
• Manage purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery.
• Lead continuous improvement on inventory turns, accuracy and process standardization.

Through data-driven planning and cross-functional collaboration, you will help minimize downtime, reduce inventory costs, and deliver a world-class customer experience.What You'll DoEnsure Service Part AvailabilityDevelop and execute inventory replenishment strategies for service and replacement parts.Establish appropriate stocking levels, reorder points, and safety stock parameters.Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify potential shortages before they impact customers.Support warranty, repair, and customer service requirements through effective inventory management.Drive Demand Planning and ForecastingAnalyze historical consumption, customer demand trends, warranty activity, and business forecasts.Develop service parts forecasts that support customer and operational requirements.Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Engineering to anticipate future demand.Continually monitor forecast accuracy and make adjustments as needed.Manage Supplier and Procurement ActivitiesCreate and maintain purchase orders for service parts inventory.Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve supply issues.Expedite critical materials when necessary to support customer commitments.Evaluate supplier performance and collaborate on opportunities for improvement.Support Operational ExcellenceMonitor key inventory and service performance metrics.Identify opportunities to improve inventory turns while maintaining high service levels.Reduce excess and obsolete inventory through proactive planning.Support inventory accuracy initiatives, cycle counts, and process standardization efforts.Collaborate Across the OrganizationWork closely with Customer Service, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams.Provide updates on inventory availability, lead times, and supply risks.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, quality, delivery, and customer satisfaction.Help develop scalable service parts processes that support company growth.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.5-8 years of inventory planning, materials planning, supply chain, or related experience.Experience managing strategic inventory and critical service parts.Strong forecasting, inventory management, and analytical capabilities.Ability to lead planning improvements and serve as a subject matter expert for service parts planning.Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.PreferredExperience in a manufacturing environment.ERP/MRP planning system experience.Knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, replenishment, and supply planning principles.Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
