Job summary

ADM is seeking a Service Mechanic for Decatur, IL. This full-time, hourly role on 2nd or 3rd shift involves preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers, A/C freon work, brake repairs, electrical troubleshooting, tire mounting/dismounting, and on-laptop diagnostics.

Candidates must follow safety rules, maintain attendance, communicate well with trucking personnel, and work effectively in a team. Overtime applies; at-will employment.

Qualifications

• Follow and promote safe work environment.
• Maintain a good attendance record (No more than 3 days unexcused absent in calendar year).
• Maintain good communications with Trucking personnel.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Maintains good housekeeping.
• Understand and perform assigned job tasks within classification.
• Perform tasks within standard time and follow procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems applicable to classification.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Certify A/C freon recovery and recharging, perform A/C repairs.
• Perform brake repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
• Mount and dismount tires.
• Perform diagnostics with laptop computer.
• Component replacement (starters, alternators, batteries).
• Cosmetic repairs (decals, tape, fenders, bumpers).
• Pressure test hydraulic systems and hose replacement.
• Perform Annual DOT inspections on tractors and trailers.
• Rebuild components.

Job Description

Service Mechanic- Decatur, IL This is a full-time, hourly, 2nd or 3rd shift position.

• Certification of performing A/C freon recovery and recharging, perform repairs on A/C
• Perform brake repairs
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
• Mount and dismount tires
• Perform diagnostics with laptop computer
• Component replacement starters, alternators, and batteries
• Cosmetic repairs, decals, reflective tape, fenders, and bumpers
• Pressure test hydraulic systems and hose replacement
• Perform Annual DOT inspections on tractors and trailers
• Rebuild components

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
