Job summary

ADM in Decatur, IL is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance and contract employees (mechanical and I&E) and drive a reliable, safe maintenance program. The role emphasizes coaching staff to maximize potential and ensuring quality work is performed safely and efficiently on a 12-hour rotating shift.

You will lead the team, enforce safety and GMP rules, use CMMS for records, coordinate parts and scheduling, and report on maintenance performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee scheduled maintenance activities as planned by Maintenance Planner.
  • Supervise daily activities of maintenance mechanics and specialists.
  • Ensure safety and GMP rules are followed while work is performed.
  • Coach staff on performance, attendance, safety and related criteria.
  • Use CMMS and other systems to maintain maintenance records and reports.
  • Monitor work quality, safety, and GMP compliance against standards.
  • Oversee project construction work, scheduling, and resource coordination.
  • Build strong working relationships with operations leadership.

Education

High school diploma or GED; engineering degree or apprentice training
Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation knowledge

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for ensuring proper execution of scheduled maintenance work as planned by the Maintenance Planner
  • Supervises the day to day activities of maintenance mechanics and specialists
  • Insures that all safety and GMP rules are being followed while work is being performed
  • Coach employees in the areas of job performance, attendance, safety and other related appraisal criteria
  • Uses CMMS and other computer systems to maintain records and files essential to meaningful analysis and reporting of maintenance information
  • Monitor work accomplished for quantity, quality, safe work practices, and GMPs against accepted department and company standards
  • Support and comply with all food safety, quality, and legality requirements
  • Oversee project construction work, including construction scheduling according to plant priorities keeping in mind the need to minimize disruption to plant operations; aspects of oversight, include developing plans as well as coordinating parts, materials, equipment, and manpower
  • Establish and maintain a mutual relationship with relevant operations leadership
Job Qualifications
  • Must be able to enforce expectations for safety, reliability, quality, service and productivity
  • Good decision making ability and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Products and Computerized Maintenance Management Software
  • Demonstrated supervisory, leadership experience and ability to drive team excellence
  • Must be customer focused and be proactive in dealing with conflict, influencing others, listening, management of priorities, organization & planning, partnering, and utilizing a proactive approach to reliability
Education/Training
  • Minimum of a high school diploma/GED, engineering degree, or apprentice training (refer to regional requirements)
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation related field is preferred
Experience
  • Strong demonstrated expertise in either mechanical or I&E maintenance, with in-depth exposure to the other area (mechanical or I&E maintenance)
  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$58,100.00 - $108,000.00
