Job summary

Walser Automotive Group is seeking a Service Manager to lead our service team and ensure exceptional customer experiences at our Minnesota locations. You will oversee technicians, service advisors, and processes that optimize efficiency and repairs while maintaining Walser standards.

The role includes interviewing and hiring, managing payroll, and mentoring staff to foster professional growth. A strong customer-service mindset and automotive knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum one year service writing experience.
• Strong data entry skills for entering information.
• Ability to operate Word, Excel, Manufacturer websites, etc.
• Excellent phone and computer skills.
• ADP experience highly desired.
• Good understanding of automotive parts and cars.
• Ability to assess and report on warranty repairs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be extremely detail oriented.
• Positive attitude and able to work in a team.
• Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and effective service.
• Serve as liaison between technicians and customers.
• Take ownership of the customer experience and complete additional assignments to leave a positive impression.
• Manage and hire technicians and service advisors.
• Interview and hire new staff.
• Distribute work between technicians.
• Prioritize required services.
• Ensure a positive dealership experience for customers.
• Provide concierge support for owner inquiries by phone or in person.
• Spend time building relationships with customers.
• Maintain staff training to Walser and Manufacturer standards.
• Manage rental and courtesy vehicle fleet.
• Perform payroll and incentive reports for employees.
• Support career development of staff.
• Lead by example and advocate for staff.
• Assist in end-of-day cashier close, cashiering, and training cashiers.
• Wear safety eyewear in service areas; wear hard-toe/slip-resistant shoes.
• All other duties and projects as assigned.
