Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead our automotive service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auto service management and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing service operations, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring that all services are performed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Duties
- Manage daily operations of the service department, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Supervise and train service technicians, providing guidance on automotive diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Oversee customer interactions, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction throughout the service process.
- Implement upselling strategies to promote additional services and products to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, including auto estimating and service writing.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with other departments to optimize vehicle repair processes, including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, and auto body repair.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and manage financial aspects of the service department.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dealership settings or auto service management is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building long-term relationships with clients.
- Familiarity with sales techniques related to automotive services.
- Ability to effectively manage a team of technicians while promoting a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of various automotive systems including air brakes and general vehicle maintenance practices.
- Previous experience as a mechanic or service technician is highly desirable.
