We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Automotive Service Manager to optimize daily shop capacity, and build lasting customer loyalty. Position Summary

The Automotive Service Manager is responsible for running an efficient, profitable, and compliant service department. In this role, you will oversee productive staffing, technician productivity, and customer retention. Your main objective is to manage the daily inventory of technician time, ensuring it is consistently sold while maintaining strict quality control and manufacturer warranty compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Department Leadership: Train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
• Customer Satisfaction: Manage customer relationships and retention by handling inquiries or escalations quickly, ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time.
• Workflow Optimization: Direct and schedule the daily activities of the shop, monitoring individual technician productivity and corresponding payroll documentation.
• Inventory & Parts Liaison: Collaborate closely with the Parts Manager to ensure seamless parts availability and minimize vehicle downtime.
• Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain precise reporting systems required by general management and the factory. Ensure absolute compliance with manufacturer warranty guidelines and local health/safety regulations (OSHA).

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Automotive Service Manager or Assistant Service Manager within a dealership environment.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, flat-rate technician scheduling, and parts department logistics.
• Systems Familiarity: Proficiency with dealer management systems (e.g., CDK and service retention software (e.g.,DealerFx) is highly preferred but not required.
• Certifications: ASE certifications or OEM-specific service management credentials are a strong plus.
• Skills: Excellent communication, team-building, and conflict-resolution abilities. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
