Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Service Manager to lead an efficient and profitable service department in Gulfport, Mississippi. The role focuses on budgeting, staffing, customer retention, cost controls, and maintaining service records.

The position offers growth within a large nationwide network of truck and bus dealerships. Responsibilities include budgeting, performance monitoring, technician productivity, and building strong ties with customers and local schools to support recruitment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years service department experience in a commercial dealership environment required.
• Must possess a current and valid driver's license meeting insurability guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department.
• Monitor department performance using reporting and tracking systems.
• Monitor technicians daily productivity reports and payroll records.
• Establish and maintain good relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
• Build relationships with vocational/technical schools to support recruitment.
• Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for common labor operations.
• Maintain 72-hour follow-up with customers to confirm satisfaction.
• Maintain reporting systems required by management and corporate personnel.

• Monitor technicians daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.

• Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.

• Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.

• Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations.

• Establish and maintain 72-hour follow-up with customers to confirm satisfaction with service.

• Maintain reporting systems required by general management and corporate personnel.
