Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Service Manager to lead and optimize a high-performing service department. You will handle budgeting, staffing oversight, and production metrics while ensuring accurate service records and cost controls.

You will foster strong customer relationships, coordinate recruitment through vocational schools, and drive profitability through efficient operations and process discipline across the network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' service department experience in a commercial dealership environment.
• Current valid driver's license with insurability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department.
• Monitor and control department performance using reporting systems.
• Monitor technicians' productivity and payroll records.
• Maintain relationships with customers to encourage repeat/referral business.
• Support recruitment activities with schools to build personnel pipelines.
• Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for common labor operations.
• Ensure 72-hour follow-up with customers to confirm satisfaction.
• Maintain required reporting for management and corporate.

The Service Manager directs an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of service records.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department.
• Monitor and control the performance of the department using appropriate reporting and tracking systems.
• Monitor technicians' daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.
• Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations.
• Establish and maintain 72-hour follow-up with customers to confirm satisfaction with service.
• Maintain reporting systems required by general management and corporate personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma.
