A well-established construction and heavy equipment dealership is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead its Service Department in Southern California. This position will oversee day-to-day service operations, technician performance, workflow, customer satisfaction, and departmental financial results.

Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the Service Department, including scheduling, workflow, staffing, and technician performance.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop service technicians and other department personnel.
- Assign repair work based on technician skills, workload, and customer priorities.
- Establish annual department goals, budgets, and performance objectives.
- Monitor financial and operational performance to ensure the department meets profitability and productivity goals.
- Review repair orders for accuracy, completeness, labor, parts, and documentation before customer billing.
- Oversee warranty and product improvement claims to ensure timely and accurate submission.
- Develop and implement processes that improve efficiency, repair quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Support service-related sales and marketing initiatives to grow department revenue.
- Maintain strong customer relationships and assist with escalated service concerns.
- Ensure department tools, equipment, service vehicles, and other resources are properly maintained.
- Analyze internal reports and service metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Promote a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment, construction equipment, product support or related Service Department operations.
- Previous Service Manager or service leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing service technicians.
- Working knowledge of dealership service operations, repair orders, warranty processes, and shop workflow.
- Understanding of departmental financials, budgeting, productivity, and profitability.
- Strong customer service, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze operational and financial reports and take appropriate action.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and dealership/service management systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
- Ability to work extended hours or occasional weekends based on business needs.
