Job summary

V20 Recruiting & Consulting represents a prominent RV dealer group seeking a Service Manager to lead a high-volume service operation at a flagship location in Houston. You will own day-to-day service, drive technician productivity, and ensure top-tier customer experiences.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Service Manager in RV industry or equivalent, with proven leadership of a service operation.
  • Experience inAdvisor or Technician roles prior to becoming Service Manager is helpful.
  • Strong understanding of fixed operations including service and parts, and their impact on profitability.
  • Ownership of service department P&L with ability to manage expenses and drive revenue.
  • Experience hiring, training, and developing high-performing service teams.
  • Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS) is required.
  • Knowledge of service workflows, scheduling, and capacity planning.
  • Experience with warranty processes and claims submission.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engagement with customers, team members, and leadership.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial acumen including KPI tracking, forecasting, and data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all day‑to‑day operations of the service department across RV and Marine to ensure efficiency and high execution standards.
  • Mentor and develop service staff, including Technicians and Advisors, promoting a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Drive Technician productivity through effective scheduling, workflow management, and performance monitoring.
  • Establish and maintain processes for timely and accurate service work completion, minimizing delays and comebacks.
  • Oversee service write-up and customer communication to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Monitor department performance against KPIs such as labor sales, gross profit, efficiency, and turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with Parts to ensure proper inventory levels and workflow alignment.
  • Ensure warranty, compliance, and manufacturer requirements are met with timely documentation and claims submission.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement efficiency, profitability, and customer-satisfaction initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized service environment adhering to safety standards and policies.
  • Work with executives to align service operations with broader business goals and growth plans.
  • Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning for staffing, capacity, and capital needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all day to day operations of the service department, across RV and Marine, ensuring efficiency, organization, and a high standard of execution
  • Manage, mentor, and develop service staff, including Technicians, Advisors, and support personnel, fostering a strong, accountable, and team oriented culture

  • Partner closely with the parts department to ensure proper inventory levels, availability, and workflow alignment to support service operations
  • Ensure all warranty, compliance, and manufacturer requirements are met, with accurate documentation and timely submission of claims
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized service environment, ensuring adherence to all safety standards and company policies
