Job summary

The Community Builders is seeking a Service Technician II to join our in-office team in Cincinnati, OH. You will diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and prepare vacant apartments for new residents, ensuring quality and efficiency.

You’ll handle on-call emergencies, support preventive maintenance, and maintain shop inventory with a safety-first mindset. A strong customer service focus and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; trade school or 3 years of progressive responsibility in property management or hospitality.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on repair experience in two or more building trades.
• REAC/HQS experience preferred.
• Industry-trade certifications such as NAHMS, CAMT, OSHA, HVAC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Respond to service requests and on-call emergencies promptly.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for building systems and equipment.
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents.
• Maintain grounds and common areas, including snow removal.
• Prepare repairs for REAC/HQS inspections.
• Maintain maintenance shop and inventory with PPE.
• Participate in weekend/on-call rotation.
• Provide technical guidance to Maintenance Tech I.
