Job description

Summary: As a Shop Foreman, you’ll be at the helm of the day-to-day operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly in the shop or service center. Here’s a breakdown of what the role entails:

Responsibilities:
  1. Assigning Priority: You’ll need to prioritize vehicle Repair Orders and assign them to the appropriate Technicians.
  2. Workflow Management: Overseeing the flow of work in the shop to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
  3. Contract Repairs: Organizing external repairs when necessary, ensuring work is completed to standard.
  4. Quality Control: Inspecting completed work and associated documentation for accuracy and quality.
  5. Training and Mentoring: Providing guidance and support to new team members.
  6. Safety Compliance: Monitoring the workspace and staff to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  7. Customer Communication: Keeping customers informed about the status of their vehicles and addressing any concerns.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Previous supervisory experience in Truck Service is preferred.
  2. Familiarity with Proceed or other Heavy-Duty Truck DMS.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Excellent customer service abilities and a professional demeanor.
  5. An AA degree, technical school degree, or 4 years of related experience is preferred.
  6. Proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Repair Order Processing.
