Job summary

Trane Technologies in Maitland, FL is hiring a Service Estimator to join our team and support Account Managers and building owners with estimates and quotes for HVAC service projects and service agreements. You will prepare cost estimates covering materials, labor, subcontractors, equipment, and scope, and negotiate prices with vendors to protect margins.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering, engineering technology or related field with 3–5 years' related experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; practical experience prioritized.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and related construction.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license with clean record over past 3 years.

• Develops detailed scope based on design-build scope.
• Create detailed cost estimates with sketches, scope definitions, and vendor quotes.
• Identify possible cost saving opportunities and risk items.
• Negotiate prices with vendors/sub-contractors to optimize costs.
• Participate in pre-job meetings with Account Managers to review scope and strategy.

In this role, you will be will be working with Trane Account Managers and building owners providing estimates and quotes for HVAC service projects and agreements. Responsibilities

• Create quotes for service agreements and all quoted works in support of our Service Account Managers and Controls Service Account Managers.
• Responsible for the cost estimates consisting of materials, sub-contractors, purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities created by personnel to assist Account Managers in bidding on or determining price of project.
• Develops detailed scope based on Account Managers design-build scope.
• Creates detailed cost estimates including system sketches, scope definition, exceptions/exclusions, preliminary proposal, vendor/sub-contractor quotes, and points list.
• Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects.
• Maintains competitive advantage by staying current with industry standards.
• Develops the scope of work for sub-contractors.
• Optimizes job costs by negotiating prices with vendors/sub-contractors through quotations for materials and services.
• Participate in pre-job meetings with Account Managers to review scope, strategy, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology or related study preferred with minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ related experience; or technical certificate with five (5) years related experience; or HVAC Technician experience with combination of education and related field experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
• Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, etc. preferred.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Compensation

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range: $51,800.00 - $93,309.99 Compensation Type: Salary Incentive Eligible: No Sales Commission Eligible: No Disclaimer: We strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
