Job summary

Cummins Inc. invites students for an internship where you will support project teams and project managers on defined initiatives. You will gain hands-on experience in schedule, scope, and resource management while contributing to risk assessment and budget tracking.

You will collaborate across teams, document learnings, and maintain project records. This paid internship expects full-time student enrollments and requires up to 40 hours per week for 10–12 weeks, primarily on site with flexibility.

Qualifications

• Must be a full-time enrolled student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college/university
• Minimum 2.5 GPA preferred
• Must be able to complete a minimum of 10–12 weeks
• Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
• Willingness to learn from others on the job
• Must be currently residing within the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

• Applies developing business process and project management skills within an area of business or technical specialty
• Manages small portions of well-defined projects and provides administrative and logistics support
• Serves as a resource on projects and work assignments with basic knowledge of project management
• Identifies, tracks, and works with others to resolve project issues
• Monitors and communicates project status to project team
• Assists with budget planning, research, and analytical support for project plans and timelines
• Assists with managing project risk and uses quality tools to identify risk areas
• Documents and shares learnings with other teams to enhance project success
• Maintains project notes, databases, and records and communicates status to the Project Manager
