Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Service Operations Manager to maintain reliable daily operations, including accurate work orders, invoices, and timecards.
  • Work with operations and accounting to support timely billing, monitor aging receivables, and resolve collection issues.
  • Partner with the Service Sales Manager and sales team to establish sales goals and develop preventive maintenance agreements that operations can deliver successfully.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and help resolve escalated service and performance concerns.
  • Work with the Service Operations Manager to maintain service vehicles and adequate parts inventory.
  • Coordinate with other department leaders to meet company objectives, improve service delivery, and use resources effectively.
  • Ensure service staff follow company and department policies, including applicable safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Progressive leadership experience in commercial HVAC, or plumbing service operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing departmental budgets, financial performance, staffing, and business plans.
  • Experience leading service teams and coordinating the work of operations, sales, and administrative staff.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and plumbing service delivery, preventive maintenance agreements, and client service expectations.
  • Ability to interpret revenue, gross profit, overhead, operating income, and receivables reports and take appropriate action.
  • Strong communication, coaching, organization, and problem-solving skills, including experience resolving escalated client concerns.
  • Proficiency with business reporting tools and service management systems.
Preferred Qualifications

We’d love to see experience with:

  • Leading and growing a service department with responsibility for both sales and operations.
  • Supporting a 24/7 service organization and coordinating emergency response resources.
  • Managing union field teams and working with applicable labor agreements.
  • Developing recurring maintenance business and improving customer retention.
  • Formal education or training in business management, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
