Base pay range

$28.00/hr - $33.00/hr

Job Title: Level 1 Service Desk

Location: Urbandale, IA 50323

Duration: 6 months (Contract to Hire)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and service-oriented Service Desk Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering front-line technical support to end-users, both onsite and remotely, ensuring timely and effective resolution of hardware, software, and connectivity issues. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical proficiency, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative attitude to a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve phone and email support requests with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Deliver both direct on-site and remote Help Desk support to users experiencing operating system, connectivity, and application issues.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, coordinate repairs, and handle PC refreshes.
  • Manage Active Directory tasks, including user setup, termination, permission changes, and configuration of systems.
  • Set up and maintain conference rooms and support related IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure tickets are logged, updated, and closed with proper documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Follow established Service Desk procedures and contribute to process improvements.
  • Support the installation, upgrade, and replacement of software and hardware as needed.
  • Apply strong technical standards, analytical skills, and communication to resolve a variety of IT-related issues creatively and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Thorough experience with PCs, Active Directory, and Intune.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365 Products, Windows 10, macOS, and iOS.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, hardware peripherals, and software.
  • Solid problem-solving, analytical, and team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Open-minded and eager to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Skilled in applying technical concepts, theories, and principles.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, bend, stand, climb, and walk as needed.
  • High school diploma or GED required; AS/BA/BS degree preferred.
