Job summary

Komatsu Laurel, DE, is seeking a leader to head the service department, overseeing shop and field repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment. Based at Laurel, you will drive service delivery and profitability.

You will lead a high-performing team, ensure safety, schedule work, manage workflow and KPIs, and coordinate with factory reps on warranty campaigns. A strong understanding of construction equipment and software helps deliver value for customers.

Qualifications

• Must apply the seven principles of the KOMATSU Way to daily work activities.
• High school degree & some college preferred.
• Construction equipment and industry knowledge.
• Some excavating and grading knowledge.
• Knowledge of software and technology applications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of the employee and work environment.
• Develop and execute plans to achieve department goals for quality and efficiency.
• Manage accounts receivables as defined in business plan and operate the service department within policy.
• Lead daily operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and KPI monitoring.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate technicians to build a high-performing service team.
• Coordinate with factory representatives to ensure warranty campaigns are completed.
• Oversee work orders and parts ordering, and provide information for closing orders and invoicing.
• Maintain communication with customers, provide repair estimates, scheduling, and approvals.
• Provide repair estimates and scheduling for Sales Dept; oversee rental unit condition on arrival.
• Communicate with outside vendors and manufacturers regarding repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain failed parts inventory removed from machines per guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
