Job summary

United Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership, is seeking a Service Manager to supervise the Service Department, assign work orders, direct technicians, and coordinate shop and field service activities to keep equipment advancing on schedule.

The role requires excellent customer service, familiarity with Deere and heavy equipment, and solid understanding of financial principles. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; travel and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and follow-through
• Familiar with the equipment industry and Deere products
• General mechanical/technical understanding and repair knowledge
• Proficient with standard desktop software and email
• Willingness to travel and adaptable to variable shifts

Responsibilities

• Supervise all Service Department personnel
• Manage opening/closing of work orders for shop control
• Maintain records of time and performance for service staff
• Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment
• Explain quotes to customers and manage changes before service
• Upsell services to improve equipment performance
• Coordinate with Deere on programs, warranties, and technical issues
• Interview and select qualified personnel
• Report on shop goals to RPSM or GM
• Assist in planning service marketing programs
• Act as site safety coordinator with Corporate Safety Manager
• Monitor training needs and deliver requisite training
