Job summary

Initiatives for Just Communities (IJC) is seeking a Service Coordinator to support adults with intellectual disabilities in the Eastman region. This role blends administrative tasks with direct support, ensuring staffing, resources, and compliant program operations.

The position requires scheduling coordination, staff supervision of Direct Support Professionals, on-call rotation, and collaboration with external stakeholders to implement care plans, with a three-month probationary period and a

Qualifications

• Three years or more of post-secondary education in a related social services field or the equivalent in work experience.
• Grade 12 or equivalency.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage conflict and provide direction.
• Strong understanding of diversity, inclusivity, and equity.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality (PHIA/FIPPA familiarity helpful).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling for program activities and Direct Support Professionals.
• Notify Program Manager when staffing is low and assist in hiring.
• Prepare and review reports and documentation for individuals and the program.
• Handle financial matters including budgeting and program spending.
• Ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Provide direct support and supervise DSPs; engage in crises as needed.
• Collaborate with coordinators, managers, and external stakeholders.
• Organize team meetings and one-on-one progress reviews.
