Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Service Coordinator to support store operations and cross-shift handoffs. You will coordinate activities to monitor shrink and financial outcomes, while mentoring team members and promoting community initiatives.

This role emphasizes effective communication, training responsibilities, and the ability to perform physical tasks as needed in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of the Service Coordinator training curriculum.
• Ability to operate cash register system and all financial services equipment.
• Strong communication, customer service orientation, organized, detail oriented, sense of urgency.
• Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
• Capability to perform physical tasks including lifting and bending as required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with peer leadership for smooth handoff between shifts.
• Perform survival walk of the department and shift-to-shift hand-off when the team leader or area leader is not present.
• Coordinate and drive actions and activities involving the monitoring and control of shrink and financial business outcomes within areas of responsibility.
• Proactively elevate concerns to leadership as they arise.
• Champion participation in community programs.
• Lead by example with behaviors and team member resource group (TMRG) engagement.
• Serve as a certified trainer for team members in their span of care.
• Perform on-the-job/hands-on team member training and mentoring.
• Serve as subject matter expert for market programs, company pilots, and development/training programs.
• Assign tasks to team members within the department, in partnership with the team leader, and follow up to ensure task completion.
